Fisherman's Wharf
You can visit a real working wharf at the foot of Figueroa Street, where commercial fishing boats unload the catch of the day into huge processing plants. No organized tours are offered, but you can stroll around and watch the operation on your own.

Pier Fishing
For actual fishing of your own, join the other fishermen at Municipal Wharf #2 and cast a line to try your luck. If the fish aren't biting, you can head back to Old Fisherman's Wharf and buy some winners from the professionals. Fishing licenses (required for ages 16-65), equipment for rent, and bait are available.

Sea Fishing
Deep-sea, rock, and surf fishing are all popular around the Monterey Peninsula. Sportfishing boats set our every day from Fisherman's Wharf. Trips to the Big Sur and Little Sur rivers for freshwater fishing can also be arranged at the Wharf, or by calling Tom's Sportfishing in Moss Landing at 831/633-2564.
